i keep going back and forth on carlo's death.

i know i was adamant before, on him dying from the petrification disease. i think logically he would have to have had it because of ergo.

but here's another weird point about his death,

i just realized why we intrinsically think he was killed.

Carlo is wearing his school uniform when his stalker finds him, and on the floor at that. That's quite odd. Maybe not being on the floor, but the uniform. Why the uniform?

"He didn't even come to your graduation?"

For the son of an aristocratic family, would this be the image of a deathly ill son in care? Did Geppetto know? Wouldn't he be in palliative care, as Lady Antonia could afford?

Why wear the uniform after graduating?

"Oh, she's here! Grab her!"

"...Gemini, get rid of them! I'm off!"

Was his death literally right after his graduation, on the same day?

And also, Gemini is a little lamp guy. (She doesn't look to be carrying the lamp.) Why does she tell him to take care of the boys? What can he even do? Tell them off?

Here's another funny thing... We NEVER see Carlo outside of his school uniform. (at least, in the "past", "real" Carlo time line).

And as we know, the school uniform has a prominent Sailor collar, the type that is associated with nautical outfits [down to the three stripes, supposedly called a "naval collar"]. The Graduation pendant that he gives to Romeo is of an anchor. [I know that these are all artifacts of the charity house. but they are nonetheless associated in tangent with Carlo]

When we find Carlo's painting, it's right next to this one of a ship. [also, two bottles on the counter, perhaps representing the "two lives" of Carlo and Pino]

also... when Carlo's memories materialize... it's in the sand. Only on the seaside.

Remember, Romeo seems to be associated with a fire element, and Pino with water, the same seems to go with Carlo. The original novel of Pinocchio itself seems to have a strange fixation on the ocean.

And now, might I present to you:

The DLC images are also of a ship and some kind of water turbine.

Director Choi (in pre-release interview): "I'll put it this way: there are more stories I want to tell in Lies of P, so I hope [it] does well."

Also: "There sure are stories we could not introduce in the game" (talking about the story being adapted into another form)

This is some sort of effort by Pino to either learn more about the deceased Carlo or try to remember his "previous life" as Carlo, by taking to the sea.

Maybe even after the game, Pino will STILL attempt to "awaken" as him so to speak [:(].

Again, Carlo is strongly associated with nautical elements. Again, he is never seen outside of a sailor suit, basically. Also, when we gain the memories of Carlo, they materialize on the sand, at the seaside. Remember, he DIED in the sailor outfit

Maybe we are to take the "sand memories" more "literally" as they are in the sand?

Did Carlo drown and his body wash ashore, which is why these memories materialize in the sand? Why is he so associated with ships?

Pino is also depicted in the water, remember, including what looks to be concept art that was used for the OST? Maybe it isn't "just" a motif? [even simple things like his "official" coat and his eyes being blue, blue blood's tailcoat, and him being associated with the colour blue in general]

Which is why Pino is pictured in the water, since he was "born" from Carlo's death... He was birthed in the water the same way Carlo died in it?

It makes me sorta sad that people constantly overlook that Poppy is disabled as per her character description. It literally says her puppet is built in a way where other puppets end up being the ones doing most of the work on-set because it's difficult to impossible for her. Poppy isn't baking cakes; she's likely directing other her other friends in how to bake a cake because she's incapable of actually doing most of the labor involved (which is probably a lot more fun when you love in a children's puppet show, and probably becomes way less fun after said show ends). Her daily life likely relies on help from her loved ones. In this case, her friends. She's not just an anxious hermit, she's an anxious *disabled* hermit who probably needs to be checked up on so long as people are able to do that. And depending on what's going on in Welcome Home that might not be a thing that happens anymore. Being left to the mercy of your own disability mental and otherwise while the world falls apart. As a disabled person in a similar position, *that* is some frickin horror.

... OH.

well, now i feel very silly for not considering this earlier, given how much i've talked about how one's autonomy (and how their life is affected by the lack thereof) seems to be something that comes a LOT in both what little we've seen of welcome home proper and what's been alluded to in concept art and some posts scattered around clown's blog. i'd point out that her bio provides an in-show explanation for why other puppets often end up assisting her (i.e. Scared) but i don't think that even has to be mutually exclusive. that fear could be - and probably is - genuine, but like. i Remember both myself* and physically disabled friends scrambling for more "socially acceptable" excuses to get out of something we knew we couldn't do before we knew what was going on with us, and continuing to do so even after finding out because you either knew for a fact that the other person wouldn't take you seriously if you told them you couldn't do (x) thing because of a disability, or because you weren't sure if they would (thanks to the behavior of people who did not.) i'm not Saying that welcome home is aiming to reflect that exact experience, because there isn't nearly enough of welcome home that's publicly available for me to make that claim, but i was reminded of that while thinking about this ask.

i'm picking up what you're putting down is what i think i'm trying to say. i could say More wrt how this ties back into some stuff i've talked about under the "wh speculation" tag before, but i have a hard time putting it into the right words and i don't wanna take too much away from the ask itself. c'est la vie. * to clarify, i am not physically disabled or chronically ill. mentally though, it's a whole other story that i don't feel like getting into on my Funny Puppet Torment Nexus Blog.

Thanks!! Tbh rn I can't add much to what I've written about Zanni so far without telling about the other members of my arrancar troupe but I hope soon enough I'll bring myself to drawing them... Anyway I'm glad you loved him! It means a lot when my designs gain positive attention 🤧 Here's what I have for Shinji:

I think everything that happened with Aizen really took a great toll on him. Ofc Shinji is not the kind of person to show how he's really feeling and the only one he puts the blame on now is Sosuke but for the hundred years that he was in the world of the living every time it was raining he stayed in bed until late afternoon. Literally just lying and doing nothing with music in the background because he felt terrible. No matter how much he tried the rain really did bring the blues out of him and sometimes it had gotten so bad he felt physically ill. Probably because it had been raining a lot when they ended up in Karakura. This habit of his kinda returned once he was in the position of the captain again because he felt like he was not supposed to be there. For the first couple of months his higher-ranking officers had to do EVERYTHING for him on rainy days.

His love language is acts of service... when the person he likes is doing something for him of course. Sometimes he would literally whine so they would cook for him or something like that but he is very grateful if they give into this stupid game. He would snoop around to check on them and sometimes even sneak up on them to look over their shoulder and say something silly.

Speaking of love I think he's very good at unconsciously studying and remembering the habits of the other person. If they do the same and for example don't try to wake him up when it's very cloudy and just leave the tray with breakfast on the bedside table/floor for him to eat later then he's head over heels. It means a lot to him when people take him seriously at all times even though he does and says stupid things a lot.

The last two paragraphs may be the reason why he was very into Kensei at one point lmao

Others:

Kensei has always been very popular among both women and men. I mean look at this guy!! Though it's a source of a lot of stress for him because 1) "My eyes are up here... have some fucking respect" and 2) he's actually very old-fashioned when it comes to love and attraction. Casual flings because he happened to be attractive to someone is NOT his thing. What happened to courting your love interest and all that?..

Sometimes Rose would sing for others. It didn't happen a lot because he didn't exactly get much inspiration in the situation they were in and he knew for sure other vizards couldn't always be in the mood for some music. It was far too cramped and noisy already for something like that and Shinji had already taken the role of the person who was going to annoy everybody with noise. Once they returned to Gotei he hoped it would change but with the sheer amount of work that waited to be done it was deemed impossible. Too busy, too tired, too uninspired. Who sings just for themselves anyway? Though I think if someone asked he would be soo happy to play or sing something for them

Lisa knows EVERYTHING about other vizards. Sometimes she would pick up on things even faster than them. She's not being creepy about it ofc. Well... Usually. But if she thought it could help someone or herself she's gonna use it either for them or against them.

First off, we have Willow! 12th generation Toreador in Amsterdam. (art by @its-sixxers <3)

When she was embraced, her Sire's Sire was the Prince of Amsterdam. Over the last couple of months, Adelheid lost power to a Ventrue in an event where the Ventrue had Willow's Sire publicly executed. Adelheid then left the city. Willow was left without a support system (she's American, the only family she had in Amsterdam were her Sire Maarten and Adelheid), and the Tremere in her coterie got a letter. From Adelheid. In which she asked if he could please tell Willow she's sorry and all that jazz. Let's just say Willow has a bit of a grudge against her Grandsire. But additionally, she also basically put her Grandsire on a pedestal and would do literally everything for this woman. Willow's fucked up perception of Adelheid really can only be fixed by Willow just... eating her. Their relationship is absolutely toxic, but Willow doesn't see that. I'm not sure how familiar you are with SIX the musical, but the other day I told my ST that Adelheid is the King Henry VIII to Willow's Katheryn Howard, which is not untrue. There's scheming happening, maybe eventually she'll the effect Adelheid has on her and find it in herself (with her Ventrue boyfriend there to support her) to eat her, usurp her and her previous position in the Camarilla, if you will. My ST won't let me yet, though. /lh

Alternatively, I have my newest character who I've played for two (2) games total so far. Her name is Eva, she's a thin-blood in Amersfoort in an After the Fall setting, so the city has basically gone to shit. (more art by @its-sixxers <3 <3)

Eva is a thin-blooded character. She was embraced by her Banu Haqim high school sweetheart Adam after not having seen him in over two decades. They reunited in a local police station, after she got arrested for petty theft and he was working the night shift. They got to talking, she discussed the fact that she was going to die soon anyway, and he panicked because he didn't want to lose her after having found her again. Super romantic, right?

The thing is, she was already terminally ill. Diagnosed with leukemia, multiple courses of treatment that never worked as they should, and she had like... maybe two years max to live? And Adam's a 13th generation Banu Haqim. Her blood's too thin, her blood was already trying to murder her. And now she's stuck with Vitae Dependency as a thin-blood flaw, and Lifelike as a thin-blood merit. A body with vitae not strong enough to sustain itself without regular additions of Vampiric Vitae, constantly sick, constantly basically dying. Using her skills takes energy she doesn't have out of her. Her baby teeth don't let her feed like a normal vampire. But Adam's there. He takes responsibility, lets her drink from him, helps her, lets her live because he can't live without her.

And the one thing she wants is to not be sick all the time. A cure for her condition, a fix for her sickly body, a way for her to be fine for the first time in years. And the one thing they've come up with so far, is diablerie. There's no active plans (yet) on how to get a vampire's soul into Eva without it overtaking her body and stuff, but for now that's the goal - unless another cure is made available, since returning to mortality is not the way for her.

we gave wind hearing aids because. that kid got launched out of a canon. that HAD to have done something to lil mans hearing. he has them in both ears. hes also just very....i always imagine him with green eyes! not sure why, but he just seems the type to have green eyes. lil cat kid. his bracelet and necklace are both ones that look like they were made by Aryll

Four's hair is dyed black at the ends to replicate shadow. (Shadows hair, while not the same length or style as fours, has the same thing going on just swapped. black hair + blonde dipdye) their glasses are just because i feel like if anyone in the chain has glasses? its four. the big tattoo they have is more to connect the colours a bit more. in all of fours outfits, it switches which colour is most prominent. their everyday is the only one thats got all of them + a neutral grey. they also get the green scrunchie because if any of them have scrunchies it is ABSOLUTELY going to be four

twilight gets the dog-tag earring because it was funny. his eyes are also a yellowish gold because ill die before thats taken from me. his hair is the way it is because i cannot imagine twi with symmetrical hair. he would love the asymmetry.

wars is another one who i just feel like has green eyes. his hair is also dyed blond, and he's naturally got brown hair (like four!). the beauty mark was just a fun little touch. i also dont think its very noticable, but he has dimples ! his earrings being, like, a swatch-pad of blue is just more relating to a headcanon we have about him being into design and art

legend remains as the character i will never see as white. his hair was our FAVOURITE dawg....it just fits him so fuckin well....his outfit is also my favourite. the cowboy boots, again, were a must. (there was a swatch of them that was pink and purple but we decided on just the pink). his nails are painted but his nail polish is chipped, unlike the rest of the chain that have nail polish on. the necklace reminded us of a beehive / honeycomb. the bandage on his wrist is because i think legend is the type to always be injured. literally always. there is not a moment where this boy is not injured in some way.

skys earrings are just to reference crime since there are no birds in the sims :( thas his friend. he gets the comfiest looking outfit because i truly think he would not like the way jeans and such feel. he just wouldnt like how they feel at ALLL. he would be the comfiest mfer on the scene and he does not care what u think about him. no cares in the world, hes COMFY !! thats all he cares abt !!

rulie was never white to me either tbh. all his clothes are patchwork, and i like to think either he patched them together, or legend patched them together for him. he doesnt see the point in buying new clothes when he can just put stuff together and call it a day. he has the curliest fuckin hair of the whole group. his hair is naturally like that.

we literally just found the most dad-oriented outfits for time and mixed it with tired farmer. tired farmer dad aesthetic. im really lucky we fuckin had the heterochromia that made his eye white or else we were in TROUBLE haha. his hair hides it but he has little ear hoops in. he also has his wedding ring on. its not special its just a golden band but u never see him without it. his hair is also just cool to me i like it and dont get to use that one much !

god i love these sm. theyve all got little things thrown in to relate to things abt them (twi being covered in dirt bc he is the ultimate farmboy, legends earrings (although hidden) being pink and purple, legends nails being painted green bc of ravios eyes (ravios r painted red 4 the same reason), fours hairclip + choker being holographic for their colours, their nails being painted black for shadow, wind wearing jewellery that looks like his sister made it, etc.) and i could explode over it HAHA

Who is the little spoon? Usually Luna because Noct has big protec instincts, however when he is tired or he's had a hard day, Luna will snuggle in behind him, kiss his shoulder and hum him to sleep.

Who sings in the shower? Luna sings in the tub, we've established this. Noct does not, but he does loiter outside the bathroom door and listen, because he's loved the sound of Luna's voice since she sang for him when they were children.

Who plays pranks on the other? They're a tag-team couple actually, watch out.

Who is the one who listens to pop music? Close enough, but Noct probably introduced Luna to pop punk. Actual footage.

Who brings the other a random cup of joe? Idk about Joe, but Luna makes the tea in this relationship. She likes to import different flavours and try them together.

Who picks the cheesy movies for date night? Since she didn't grow up with access to electronic entertainment, Noct has an entire list of must-watch movies for Luna. They're working through it as a team.

Who is more likely to feed the other in public? ...Oh no, they are that insufferable, aren't they?

Who gives the other random little compliments? Look, if tooth-rotting adorableness isn't your thing, I am begging you to stay away from these two because they will "no, you hang up first" right to each other's faces. Keep that shit at home, you two. No one wants to see that.

Who is always stealing food from the other’s plate? Noctis is always putting his veggies on Luna's plate, does that count?

Who is more likely to let the other borrow their car?  Noct trusts his wife very much, but. Maybe it's safer to just get a driver, hm?

Who makes the list before they go grocery shopping? Literally anyone but them.

Who makes sure the other takes their meds when sick? Once a healer, always a healer. My instincts just tell me that Noctis is the miserable type when he gets sick, and you just know Luna will drop everything to take care of him. (Ofc he'd do the same, but she rarely stays ill long, so.)

Who watches sports and has to teach the other the rules? Luna missed out on a lot growing up, and Noct can't wait to show her.

Who pulls the other to their feet for a dance in the living room? Luna does this because she genuinely enjoys dancing. When Noct does it, it's to elicit some extra cuddles.

Who has to keep reminding the other to hurry or they’ll be late? Nobody. Luna has long since learned the art of pretending they have to leave an hour before they actually do.

Who is the one most likely to get a tattoo with the other’s name? I don't really see either of them as tattoo people. Royal image and all. But they have thier rings, and they have their precious book tying them together - that's enough for these two.

i wrote op-eds for my school paper when i was an undergraduate. it’s been a lifelong dream to publish an op-ed with a national news organization.

last week, i was livid and depressed and fired off a haphazard pitch. my first ever pitch. 

anyway. 

it’s been published! and i’m getting paid!  

i want to keep writing. i want to send better pitches. but i’ve accomplished a goal. 

and because it came in a week where i’m quitting my job of six years and starting a part-time job, i’m not properly excited. which sucks. i’m not sure how to celebrate this.

so we’ve refused more lockdowns because of the disruption to the economy.

what makes this disruption from rampant infection acceptable?

omicron still a dangerous variant of covid. it still puts the most vulnerable among us at risk -especially now with a more transmissible strain and no lockdown in place to prevent spread. it still puts an immense burden on the healthcare system.

this push to return to “normal” and “live with the virus” is reckless.

i’ve yet to have covid because i’ve given up a majority of my life for nearly two years - to keep my high risk self safe, to keep my high risk parents safe, to keep my community safe.

yes, i have a white collar job where i’ve been granted ada accommodations. but saying that doesn’t reveal the struggle of getting those accommodations (ada protects employers more than employees; did you know that employers can deny accommodations if the employer feels it places undue hardship on them?). it doesn’t reveal the reality of living, working, sleeping in one room for the majority of two years.

being chronically ill is not a privilege.

i’ve been told to stay home if i’m vulnerable, if i’m “scared.”

i’ve been told by the actions of millions and by the actions of people i love that my life is less valuable because of my chronic illnesses.

i’ve been told that it’s okay if i have to give up my live to stay safe, it’s okay if i merely exist and lose access to so many things that give my life meaning.

we can’t interfere with the return to normal for the abled.

am i asking you to not live your life as you wish? essentially - yes. for now - yes.

what makes your ability to live your life and pursue normal more important than my ability to live my life safely and pursue normal?

we should be striving for a return to normal that’s accessible for everyone - including the disabled and chronically ill communities. any other normal is unjust.

how do we get there? get vaccinated. get boosted. wear a quality mask. curb activities that aren’t essential. push for equitable global vaccine access. ask how you can help your high risk friends.

care about each other. care about healthcare workers. care about people like me. act for the collective.

yes, i’m angry. yes, this post will probably piss people off.

but i wanted to offer my truth, my reality for the past two years, my reality for the foreseeable future.

but part of the problem with hearing for nearly two years that my life is less valuable, that it’s okay for me to live a less fulfilling life is that i start to believe it.

and i want to be clear - i’m not faulting the workers who cannot stay home. i’m faulting capitalism. i’m faulting individualism. i’m faulting the system for ignoring this chance to reimagine and reinvent a better education system, a better healthcare system, a better economic system, a better collective society.

honestly a lot of what inspired me to draw was watching speedpaints on youtube as a little kid and being just totally amazed at what i saw and wanting to be able to do that myself :O art youtube as a whole was also a big source of inspo for me i think it really helped to see how professionals drew when i was first learning the basics

for tips i would generally say that its always a good idea to use references when you draw!! i never used them at first so my art stayed pretty stagnant for a long time but after i started using them i started like RAPIDLY improving. and when i say reference i mean for more than just poses, like literally anything youre unsure of how to draw or what to draw its always a good idea to look up some references even just for inspo!! my main place to go is pinterest but im pretty sure i have some good refs saved on my blog under my #important tag if you wanna go look through those

my favourite thing to doodle is probably clothes/outfits!! it's sooooo fun I love just getting to sit down and make a cute outfit :D

im a bit of a slow artist lmao so most of my pieces I would say take an average of maybe 4-5 hours? though I've definitely drawn some things thay have taken <1 or 20+ hours lol

Once again I will reiterate that this is NOT about fics being incorrectly tagged. Like I said before, if something is tagged 'gn reader' but then switches then YES that is incorrectly tagged and you should reach out to the author and see if they would mind changing it. They might not have even realized they are doing it.

Another point you are trying to make is that you're claiming that a post with a meme of will smith slapping a guy with the literal 'x readers who are too lazy to specify gender' on it ISN'T about the authors being called lazy.

NO ONE is entitled to someone's free creative work. Yes it is frustrating but there is literally no possible way to tag for absolutely everything that could possible trigger someone. I'm not invalidating the struggle people with actual triggers have. It sucks. It's awful. It's frustrating. Censorship has nothing to do with this and I'm not claiming that you are asking for that.

My issue with this discussion is that you are putting RESPONSIBILITY on people who are uploading a FREE LUXURY that NO ONE is entitled to. AO3 literally has the best tagging system for fics on the internet. Are they all used constantly? No? Is it possible to cover for EVERY SINGLY POSSIBLE TRIGGER? No because you DON'T KNOW WHAT TRIGGERS PEOPLE. Not to mention that just a small change in how you write the tag i.e. 'gn reader/azul' compared to 'azul/gn reader' compared to 'azul/gn!reader' will get you different results. And that's only the tags that are obvious. A writer is not responsible for trying to list and figure out every single way that something is tagged. Would it be nice if they were all perfectly tagged automatically and there were never any mistakes? Yes. But these are FREE WORKS OF ART THAT NO ONE IS ENTITLED TO.

If you have an actual trigger that PHYSICALLY or MENTALLY EFFECTS YOU TO THE POINT OF ILLNESS OR DETRIMENT TO YOUR WELL BEING it is no one's responsibility but your own what you choose to interact with. If you search out the tags that you don't want to see and you only have 1 option? That is one option that you are GETTING FOR FREE. There is literally access to more variety in fiction (not even just in fanfiction) today then ever before.

If there aren't enough Azul/gn! reader fics for you and you're frustrated that you have to try and search them out (which by the way wasn't even possible until AO3 appeared) then WRITE YOUR OWN. PAY SOMEONE TO WRITE SOMETHING FOR YOU. TAG absolutely everything that could possibly trigger someone. Make sure it's the most accessible work of fiction that has ever existed. If you can't, look and find fics that sound interesting and contact the author directly asking if 'this' or 'that' trigger is in their work. 9 times out of 10 they're happy to tell you! If you are not willing to do this or if you make the choice not to that is still YOUR CHOICE.

But don't turn the blame on writers. Don't lash out at authors like this for something that just adds more for an author to do to post their work. Don't 'get frustrated' for something that is FREE. Your view comes off as ENTITLED to every work of fiction that fits your criteria but the truth is that even if you only have that 1 gn!reader/Azul fic in Twisted Wonderland that is STILL ONE MORE FREE FANWORK THAN WHAT YOU HAD BEFORE. Even if EVERY SINGLE FANFIC in EVERY SINGLE FANDOM left them blank with absolutely no tags they are doing NOTHING WRONG. Do not complain about a FREE LUXURY that no one is ENTITLED to. If you are not happy with what you see as something lacking then MAKE YOUR OWN CONTENT and TAG IT YOURSELF. I have a trigger, myself, that regards a very specific dynamic/trope/reaction regarding father figures and I can tell you that I have NEVER seen a work with a tag for it because most DO NOT REALIZE IT IS A TRIGGER. I acknowledge this because I know that if I am opening a FREE FANWORK I am taking my own health in my own hands and the responsibility for that is MY OWN. There are days that I know I can't handle reading something like that and on those days I AVOID READING ANY KIND OF FICTION THAT COULD HAVE THAT IN IT. I don't complain about every single fanwork ever in existence not having that very specific tag. And you'll say 'but this is a well known tag!' but does mean your trauma is any worse or better than mine? NO. Do I complain that I don't have a huge library of FREE FANWORKS that I can access at ANY POINT IN TIME? No. Because I AM NOT ENTITLED TO IT.

All your stance does is place blame and pressure on authors for writing and posting a FREE WORK OF ART.

So once again, yes I support tagging. Yes I hope that you are able to find FREE ART that you enjoy and can experience without putting your wellbeing in jeopardy. But complaining and making what is essentially a violent meme (he is literally HITTING a guy) as if authors failing in some duty when they DON'T HAVE TO POST ANYTHING IN THE FIRST PLACE is entitled and childish.

I cannot iterate enough that if you want more fanwork that you know FOR ABSOLUTE CERTAIN will not harm you and you just can't risk clicking on anything else because it will harm you then it is your responsibility to PAY SOMEONE FOR THEIR WORK and then give them a full list of what you want and what you specifically DON'T WANT.

Stop trying to spread the sentiment that you are entitled to free art because that is what you are saying. You're saying that you 'miss out' on fanworks but the truth is NONE OF THE FANWORKS ARE OWED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE.

NO ONE IS OWED THEM.

If your mental or physical health can be put in jeopardy by reading a fanwork it is your responsibility to make that decision if you want to risk reading a FREE work that is not tagged. Yes this means there will be fewer ABSOLUTELY FREE works for you to enjoy and YES this suck and YES I wish no one ever had to face being triggered but this mentality of being ENTITLED to FREE WORKS OF ART (which is what you are claiming) has to stop.
